Senior Cloud Systems Engineers
(National Capital Reg)
Position Overview:
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will work as a member of the technology operations team that install and manage an infrastructure at telcos, ISPs, and government agencies globally. You will work with other engineering and operations team members in Korea, Taiwan and Manila to install, maintain, and optimize the distributed cloud computing products offered. In this role you will have the opportunity to assist in the ground-up design and data center architecture that supports next generation of DCC products offered by NimbusSupport’s parent company. This is a highly visible and challenging opportunity that will advance accepted applicants several steps ahead in their careers. Some travel within Asia as well as further abroad may be required in this position.
Responsibilities:
We are currently looking for engineers who will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the offered cloud system.
- Management of servers and network monitoring
- Find and fix defects/anomalies in deployed cloud systems
- Identify opportunities for automation and develop automation scripts for automating routine tasks/testing
- Supervision of Team Members assigned in the group
- Manage assigned projects to completion - within the period allotted and budget approved
- Assist in keeping the documentation of various procedures up to date
- Assist with Continuous Integration
- Monitoring and responding to alerts
- Will work with developers to deploy and test application patches and new features
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- At least 2 years managing a set of servers and networks
- At least 1 year Administrating Windows Server 2003 and/or newer
- At least 1 year Administrating Linux Servers for e-Mail Services, DNS, DHCP, NFS and Samba
- At least 1 year Administering databases in Linux environments
- TCP/IP and Networking technologies (e.g., DNS, DHCP, FTP)
- Routing and Packet filtering
Additional Requirements:
- Drive and ambition
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Required language(s): English
- Valid passport
- Willingness to travel
